Zenome, a new web search directory, is providing opportunities for indexers and editors to become category editors--and get paid for it. In exchange for their time and expertise, category editors will receive recurring commissions based on the ad revenue that their category generates.

The Zenome directory, located at www.zenome.com, has been online since July and continue to grow strong, adding new sites frequently. According to Zenome's managing editor, "Like the Human Genome Project, we are providing the tools for the online community to build a unique, digital library. But, unlike The Open Directory Project (DMOZ) - a project for which we have the utmost respect - we will allow advertising. Our targeted sponsors will help subsidize the Zenome community. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive human-indexed directory in order to deliver superior search results."

There are two different types of membership, Editors and Members. Zenome pays ongoing commissions to individuals who become editors of one or more Zenome categories. Editors need to apply and they are usually notified within two weeks. Members receive a commission if they refer a friend to become an Editor. Members can create a user profile, communicate with other members, create web-based bookmarks, and email site listings to friends. Zenome Users (non-members) can still receive cash bonuses by helping us grow the Zenome directory.

Anyone can receive bonuses based on the quality and quantity of the sites they index. They can index as many sites as they want with no commitment whatsoever.
