In a suit filed last week in California Superior Court in Santa Clara County, a former Google executive by the name of Brian Reid claims that he was unfairly terminated due to his age and ongoing health problems. Reid is 54 years old and suffers from diabetes. Reid's attorney claims that Google violated age discrimination laws in an effort to create a more youthful environment.
The average age of a Google employee is under 30 and less than 2% of its 1,600 employees are older than 40.
