Search Engine rankings may not be as meaningful as they once were, however they still do hold some value, and if they are combined with things like competitive data and web analytics, search engine rankings can be quite useful. We have had our share of demos of search engine ranking software over the years, but the latest one from SEO Rank Monitor deserves a second look.
Before we get into the details, there is a full 30 day trial available, which allows you test drive 10 domains and 2500 keywords - Data is collected daily.

The setup is quite standard, like most ranking tools, you add your domains and keywords (with their appropriate groupings) and select your search engines (in this case 30 to choose from). Next you add your competitor's domains, which is not revolutionary, but very useful nonetheless. Finally, you have the option of connecting your Google Analytics account so you can tie together rankings and visits. This will help you decipher whether a rank 5 for one keyword provides more visits vs. a rank 8 for a separate keyword.

The way the dashboard is setup is quite unique. It provides a week by week comparison allowing you to see rankings at a very high level, for example: Total keywords ranked in positions 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 one week vs. another week. See example below:

SEO Rank Monitor also provides other reports (examples below), including Analytics Monitor (visits correlated by rankings) and Domain monitor (domain level data such as pages indexed and backlinks). Click on images to see full size.

Sweet I've been look for this for quite some time.

Interesting tool. I wonder what Google thinks of it. In order to connect analytics you need to add a email address to your GA account. If Google isn't so favorable to this software it would be easy for them to find and penalize sites using this application.

great tool that would help in competitor analysis

A site called offers the same sort of rank tracking (and more) and doesn't require you to tie your gmail account to it. It's a great app and it's been around a while so its very stable.

Very interesting point there.
I wonder if Google will really penalize a site simply because they don't like the "tool" a site uses.
I would probably gave it a test drive, but now i'm kindda second guessing myself. hum...

In response to the comment left by Dan:

Will my web site(s) be penalized if I use MasterSiteManager?

Nope. MasterSiteManager doesn’t expose you to risk like some desktop based (or even other online) SEO monitoring programs, because unlike a desktop based rank checker, (which do open you up to the risk of getting your IP blocked) Master Site Manager uses its own network of proxy servers and IP’s.

As a result you’ll never use your own IP when using MasterSiteManager so your sites are completely safe. I.E there is NO risk of having your IP address banned lbecause the stat quires aren’t coming from my internet account.

Also, you can use whatever email address you want. MasterSiteManager does not interact with your webmaster tools account on google.
