Marchex Inc. of Seattle has downsized its planned initial public offering and now hopes to raise up to $28 million. The Internet company's new target, outlined in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Thursday, is below the $35 million contemplated by Marchex's original IPO papers in December. But while it is only 11 months old, Marchex has grown quickly through two acquisitions. It acquired Provo, Utah-based Enhance Interactive in March for $13.3 million and Eugene, Ore.-based TrafficLeader in October for $3.2 million. For the first nine months of the year, Marchex posted revenues of $15.5 million and operating cash flow of $2.1 million.
