The Shoemoney System is a subscription based Internet marketing course delivered via an extensive series of videos covering a broad range of marketing topics; search engine marketing, social media, affiliate marketing, etc. I'm into my third month as a Shoemoney System subscriber so I'm far enough in to provide insights into the program and information on what you can expect.

Let's Start With the Bottom Line

To save you the time of reading the entire review before you figure out if the Shoemoney System is suited for you, I'll skip to the chase:

  • Is The Shoemoney System Worth It For the Advanced Internet Marketer?

No. If you already have years of experience in pay per click, SEO, affiliate marketing, lead generation, etc., you don't need it.

  • What If I'm an Intermediate Level Internet Marketer?

Maybe. You will be frustrated by the amount of detail the videos go into on absolutely basic concepts in getting started in the beginner videos. And you will be frustrated by the pace of the program. Unless you are willing to pay the first couple of months for information you already know before moving to the more advanced topics, you won't be happy. I place myself in the intermediate category and would not have continued my subscription after the first month if I wasn't already familiar with Jeremy Schoemaker's expertise through blogs, video presentations, forum posts, etc. I was confident there was much more waiting beyond the basics that I would benefit from. The way I look at it, Internet marketing isn't static, it changes over time (sometimes rapidly) so I'm willing to save time by investing in continuing education looking for what I've missed in my day to day work with my business.

  • Is It Worth the Price for a Beginner Who Needs To Learn Internet Marketing?

Yes. If you are a beginner, the Shoemoney System is likely the best way you can get an education in Internet Marketing and is worth far more than you'll pay. But, and this is a big but, there are a couple of reasons that may prevent you from subscribing. I'll provide details as we go along.

What Exactly Is the Shoemoney System?

The Shoemoney System is a series of educational videos designed to teach you in detail how to get started in Internet marketing. The program is developed and presented by Jeremy Schoemaker. Jeremy is an Internet marketing expert with years of experience running his businesses and teaching others through his blog, his radio program and as a conference speaker. I've read his blog and listened to his programs for years and he legitimately is an expert in the Internet marketing field.

The program is useful if you:
  • Want to earn an extra income while working from home or keeping your current job.
  • Want to start and build your own business.
  • Already run your own business and need a solid education on Internet marketing.
The program progresses from beginning to intermediate to advanced topics. The video approach is excellent because you can watch as tasks are performed which I find helpful to grasp the marketing concepts and implement the techniques as you walk through the tutorials.

What You May Not Like About the Shoemoney System:

  • Subscription:
The Shoemoney System is subscription based, which isn't an issue. But, if you decide to temporarily stop the subscription, you can NOT re-subscribe and pick up where you left off. If you cancel and re-subcribe you will have to start over at the beginning and go through what you've already learned while paying the monthly subscription along the way. Not a deal-breaker, but keep it in mind.

  • Presentation:
In some of the videos he includes students who know nothing about Internet marketing and walks them through the steps. That's excellent. But the students are models in tight shirts. Maybe I'm just stuffy but I would have liked it better if he had included students that are more "real," for a lack of a better term. Perhaps a typical mom or dad who needs the income to provide for their family. Someone who has more on the line. I can better relate to someone who is in that situation trying to get started.

Also, if you expect highly polished videos with a lot of time spent on production you may not like the approach. Personally, I like the fact that the videos cover topics in laid back way. But if you are in to highly scripted productions with lots of editing, you may find it annoying.

  • Promotion:
I may be nit-picking with this, but I'm not a fan of the promotional materials he uses for his marketing. In my opinion, they are way too "hype-ish." Fortunately, his material is exceptional and backs everything up. I do understand he needs to makes sales and to do so he needs to grab people's attention. But, I think this over-the-top marketing will cause some people to question the integrity of the course. I guess I'm just more of the soft sell type.

  • Program Pace:
All of the videos are not available at once. Each week new videos are provided as you move along through the system. I understand this is necessary so people will continue with their subscription, but for me the pace is too slow. I'd prefer if I could skip videos on topics I already understand or aren't of interest to me.

  • Coupons:
The coupons are only made available as you cover a topic, you don't get them all in advance. Again, I realize if they were all provided at the beginning, there are people who would abuse this by grabbing all the coupons and immediately cancel their subscription taking advantage of the money back guarantee. So, this is understandable, but something you need to be aware of in advance.

  • Time Investment:
Don't expect to become an Internet marketing expert in a few weeks. You won't. And don't expect to make a substantial amount of money in a few weeks. You won't. You need to have realistic expectations of the amount of material you'll need to cover and the time it will take.

If you are an intermediate level marketer, yes there are techniques you'll be able to put into place that can generate revenue for you quickly. Just keep in mind, you have to get through the beginner courses to get there.
With those issues outlined, we can move to...

What Makes the Shoemoney System Worth the Subscription:

  • Program Pace:
As I mentioned above, I'd have preferred to have a quicker pace. But, for the beginner, the slower pace may prove to be an advantage. Here's why:

    • If 50 videos were thrown at you all at once, you'd probably be overwhelmed.
    • With a slower pace you won't feel pressured to spend more time than you have learning everything.
    • The slower pace can help you avoid costly mistakes. Without building a solid foundation, jumping ahead before you are ready will likely result in you wasting the advertising coupons and spending money you can't afford to lose.
  • The Variety of Topics Covered:
Not every marketing technique will be well suited for your business, your personality, or budget. Having a broad understanding of what marketing methods are available will help you focus on those that will provide the most benefit to you. Further down the review you can see the very large list of videos that are available after the three month mark. And, more are being provided each week.

  • Podcasts:
In addition to the educational videos, which are the heart of the program, Jeremy also provides podcasts which are audio programs you listen to on your computer. Two categories of podcasts are made available; "Episodes of Jeremy's Radio Programs" and "Expert Interviews." Although there are two categories, they are all lumped together which isn't helpful. I may be missing something but when I click either category, the big list is shown. There are currently 62 podcasts available. His radio programs can all be found free online but I'm glad he included them all here for easy reference.

  • Webinars:
Jeremy hosts webinars twice a month where he answers member questions live or interviews successful marketers. If you miss a webinar, it's not a problem because a video of the webinar is placed in your member area.

  • Resource Directory:
A directory of recommended resources is provided for your reference. This will prove handy as you grow your business and need tools to accomplish various jobs. The topics include:

    • Affiliate & CPA Networks
    • Contextual Ad Companies
    • Online Spying Tools
    • Graphic Design Tools
    • Online Help Desk Software
    • Web Hosting Solutions
    • Keyword Research Tools
    • Lead Generation Sources
    • Live Chat Software
    • Media Buying Sources
    • Membership Site Management
    • Market Research Tools
    • Outsourcing Networks
    • Paid Press Release Services
    • Free Press Release Services
    • Shopping Cart Services
    • Survey And Polling Software
    • Web Analytic Tools
    • Video Submission Sites
The resources listed are those that Jeremy uses and has found valuable through the years. A (somewhat big) complaint I have with the resource directory is he didn't explain why each was valuable to him. Descriptions with a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages would have made this a much more valuable resource. An example would be "Web Hosting Solutions"; which is better for price, support and services? As it is now, no information like that is provided.

  • $2,500 In Free Advertising Coupons:
Advertising coupons from Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, SponsoredTweets, Azoogle and a few others. This is a fantastic part of the program. Just remember, they are provided as you work your way through the course.

  • Trusted Information:
The amount of information available on the topic of Internet marketing in books and online is overwhelming. And when you are getting started, knowing who you can trust is a major concern. There is more bad advice out there than good and you can waste a lot of time (and money) on self-proclaimed experts who at best, don't have the track record and experience they should, or at worst, are outright frauds.

In contrast Jeremy actually is an expert in his field and has earned that status running his own businesses, being a marketing talk show host, owning a wildly successful blog, and being a speaker at conferences including Pubcon, Blogworld and Elite Retreat (his own conference). Whether you decide the program is for you or not, Jeremy's mastery of Internet marketing is unquestioned.

  • 60 Day Money Back Guarantee:
This is a no questions asked guarantee and you can cancel any time up to 60 days for a full refund. After 60 days, there are no refunds but the subscription is month to month so you can cancel at any time. I'm into month three and didn't request a refund so, although I don't in any way doubt the refund guarantee, I don't have experience with it. Of course, if you had problems, you could contest the charges with your credit card company.
