A new search engine marketing print magazine is due to be release this summer entitled The Search Marketing Standard. I first came upon this news at
Search Engine Roundtable. The official
press release states the following:
"It was announced today that a brand-new publication -- “Search Marketing Standard” -- has been launched to cover the search industry. This magazine will be the first and only periodical completely devoted to the world of search marketing."
They are offering a
free one year subscription as long as you sign up before February 28th, 2006. The first issue of the full-color, high-quality magazine is set to be released in May 2006, and will be published worldwide on a quarterly basis.
The press release goes on to say:
"Search Marketing Standard” is expected to set a benchmark in the industry by offering a cohesive collection of timely advice and reporting breaking trends for online business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals who market themselves on search engines such as Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Microsoft Search (MSN), Searchfeed, MIVA (FindWhat), ePilot, Kanoodle, Enhance Interactive, Search123, Mamma, and many others."
A sign that our industry is maturing? Maybe. We have our own
Internet radio station dedicated to the search engine marketing industry as well as other topics. Now a print magazine. It is not the first however. Brett Tabke of
Webmaster World posting at Cre8asite Forums states,
"There was another magazine a couple years ago called Ballyhoo by Troy Perkins. It was pretty interesting, but they ran out of money before the 4(th) issue. I think this one has a shot of making it."
I signed up for it. Hey its free... why not. I wonder what the first issue will bring and who will contribute to its contents? I guess I'll have to wait a few more months to find out.
