Gary Price noted earlier this week on the Search Engine Watch blog that Google was quietly testing a new desktop editor for their AdWords platform. The desktop version is still in beta and available by invitation only, but hopefully it will quickly make it's way into the public realm.

AdWords editor will allow advertisers to handle most of the management of their campaigns without having to login to the AdWords interface. This is great for Google, because it offloads a lot of bandwidth onto advertisers' systems and it's great for users who can now work on campaigns offline and then update their changes at a later point in time.

Features include the ability to:

  • Navigate one or more accounts
  • Add, edit and delete keywords and ads
  • Sort and view campaign data
  • Work offline and upload data at a later date

Screenshots are available on the AdWords Editor information page. You can also read more about the AdWords Editor features and the FAQ.
