The word is out that California U.S. District Judge James Ware will be ordering Google to serve up some of the data being demanded by the DOJ, but not all of it. Judge Ware basically ruled that while Google did have to give up some data to the government, the government's original request was "overreaching" and would be an "invasion of privacy." That has both sides claiming victory in a court battle that stands to set a strong precedent for the future of privacy issues when it comes to search. CBC news has the full story.
