Just wanted to make a post and let our readers know that I had my baby at home (yes, as planned) on Thursday, September 28th. Emmitt Charles Laycock showed up a couple of days early at 11am weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 20 and a half inches long. He and I are both fine and the whole family is looking forward to me having a nice break from work for a bit. Yep, you heard me...I'm actually taking some maternity leave.

Matt Bailey, Lisa Stewart, Stoney deGeyter, David Wallace, Chris Logan, Karri Flatla, Bill Hartzer and the dynamic duo of Matt and Stacy Williams will each be blogging for a week here at the site. We've also got a great series of guest articles coming up, so there will be no lack of content. I'll still be checking email and keeping an eye on things, but as you can imagine, my hands will be full with a newborn and a two year old, so email responses won't be as timely as usual.

A special thanks to all of the readers and industry folks that have checked in with me during the last few weeks to share their good thoughts and prayers. An additional special thanks to the above mentioned bloggers and to Robert Clough who together arranged for me to take an actual REAL maternity leave for this baby. A final special thanks to all of my great regular guest writers that agreed to step up article production, especially the teams at Bruce Clay and at Medium Blue who generously contributed tons of articles.

Enjoy the new voices! I'll be back in December!
