Hi Everyone!

A big thanks goes out to Mamma.com for sponsoring the newsletter for the past month! And, thank YOU for being a subscriber and checking out our advertisers' web sites. The reason advertisers keep coming back is because of the awesome response they get from you.

Last day of school for the kids today. I'm going to rent a video tonight and let them stay up late in the hope that they'll let me sleep in tomorrow. (Not likely.) :-)

Have a great week!

Robert Clough

3-page Minimum?

India's Secret Army of Ad Clickers - Rupees for Clicks
Source: SecurityForumX - "I hate to say 'I told you so'... ... but... well... I told you so... Since the introduction of Google Ads and various other 'pay for click' advertising schemes, I have been saying that it was open to abuse and that advertisers that 'pay for clicks' are probably 'paying to support some family in India and not attracting real clients or potential customers...'."

Accents and Search Engines?
Source: JimWorld - "Do you think I should use accents or not? Could it affect my rankings in search engines? If a visitor of my site doesn't have an Spanish enabled browser, will he/she get strange characters where an accent should be?"

Geico sues Google and Overture
Source: Cre8asite Forums - "I'm still wondering if there is consumer confusion when someone searches for a company by its name or trademark, and it's competitor's site is the one that shows up prominently on a search result as a paid ad. I think there is."

From the Small Business Brief...
(If you like our search engine news, you'll love our small business news.)

It's 11 p.m. -- Is Your Merchant Account Secure?
Like the typical e-commerce entrepreneur, I was working late one night and going through a collection of bills and other paperwork when I stumbled across an alarming new fine-print notice in the statement from our credit card processing company. The gist? I could be required to pay $1,700 to upgrade my card processing terminal. That certainly got my attention -- an unexpected $1,700 business expense is always unwelcome news.
