Below are 25 paid search resources... 11 Ways Fill Your Shopper's Cartby Stoney deGeyterSince the "purchase" is the ultimate conversion, it is imperative that you remove as many obstacles from the customer's research-to-buy cycle as possible. Providing your visitors the key ingredients in their shopping experience creates a smooth and worry-free transaction process. The easier it is to shop and buy the more customers will overcome the natural hesitations that many feel before they commit by hitting the final "complete order" button. Four Social Media Lessons from SXSW's Mark Zuckerberg Interviewby Jennifer LaycockIf you read technology and marketing blogs or follow Twitter, chances are good you've heard some of the fuss about Sarah Lacy's interview of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at yesterday's South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin. I spent the afternoon watching Twitter users unleash an absolute tirade against Lacy during the interview, which left me wondering what was going on. After having read numerous blog posts, news stories and watching several video clips, I realized what the fuss was all about. As always, there's something to be learned from failure. Sometimes Fixing a Site Means Breaking It Firstby Stoney deGeyterWhile it has taken many years for SEO to be considered a marketing function within the business community, I sometimes wonder if the pendulum has swung now too far away from SEO being a function of the IT department. Using Differentiators in Keyphrases: What Every Search Engine Optimization Company Needs to KnowI totally agree with the basics of the concept being offered. I have used it in various forms for many years now to help my clients, however, what I see that I either missed or what was missed in the theory is, IMHO, that the searcher must be using these "Differentiators" in their search don't they? If these terms are not being used by searchers then while you may rank well for them, what traffic will be gleaned from a high ranking? I am a firm believer in progessively searched Stemmed Terms, that is terms that have a Demonstrated record of actually being searched. With the average buyer searching at least 5 times prior to commitment and with each search thereafter being stemmed further, I find it most effective to after Actual Stemmed terms from the base term. The rest of the theory applies very well having personally used it with success in many cases, however, again, there is no substitute for doing your homework to find those stemmed terms that are from a real lead, much close to converting. If I have to I want to be able to continue shopping where I left off, even if I'm not necessarily "logged in." 6pm.com is a good example - that way I dont have to start over if I get back to what I was doing, which can be a pain.
