Jensense noted that Google has updated their Terms of Service once again for AdSense publishers. You know, that's all that legal jargon that you may have glazed over when you agreed to run Google ads on your site. Of course many people in general don't take the time to read terms of service or licensing agreements but if you are earning any type of a healthy income running AdSense on your site(s), then you better pay attention to what Google's TOS has to say.
The changes mostly deal with how the ads are displayed. Regarding ad placement on non-content based pages, Jensense notes they have removed a prior statement that read "This includes
error, login, registration, "thank you" or welcome pages." So apparently you are now allowed to run AdSense on these types of pages. She also points out a "beefier" policy regarding client software such as toolbars or any software that might trigger Google ads to display. An addition was made to the Incentives section related to the sending of unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites to try to draw attention to Google ads. The Prohibited Clicks and Impressions section has also been beefed up. The continuous reminder here is to not click on your own ads, not even to test them or if something just happens to catch your attention. Don't do it! That could trigger a suspension.
Nothing too major but nevertheless if you are like me and have sites that earn a decent income from AdSense, then it is always important to pay attention to the
AdSense Terms of Service and make sure you comply with them completely.
