For years I've harped on people to keep their paws off the ALT attribute when they are looking for places to put their keywords. While it's fine and dandy to include keyword rich text when appropriate, it's far too tempting for some people to go overboard. A new study shows why the temptation doesn't even need to exist anymore...
Robin Nobles has a great article today that features some input from Jerry West of WebMarketingNow and Search Engine Academy. West has been conducting some fairly in-depth tests to see which engines still place any value on keywords contained within the ALT attribute.
Get the full scoop on West's research in today's article by Robin Nobles: "How Important is ALT Text In Search Engine Optimization?."
