As the race against Yahoo! and Microsoft continues, the folks at Google are doing a little brainstorming to figure out where to spend their next $4 billion. Chances are good that they're not going to spend it all on Segway scooters and bean bag chairs...
What they will be spending it on remains to be seen, though plenty of folks within the industry are more than happy to speculate. There's talk of Google buying a stake in AOL, simply to keep MSN out of the way. There's talk of a web browser, an operating system, even of nationwide wireless Internet access.
