Google Blogoscoped has some speculation this week on the possibility of a Google payment system that would rival PayPal. There's been some buzz about the possibility of a new offering dubbed "Google Wallet" or "Google Purchases" and the URL www.google.com/purchases now has a redirect to the Google Accounts login page.
The Google Rumors blog has screenshots of a page that allows you to enter your credit card information, along with plenty of speculation on what the Google Purchases product might be.
Gary Price speculated on all of it earlier this week at Search Engine Watch and there's also a forum discussion going on at the Search Engine Watch forums.
