Think about the last query that you typed into a search engine. How did it differ from how you might have asked a question to another human? Gord Hotchkiss wonders this week about how search engines have changed the way we think about questions, or even about communicating.

He makes some good points, especially when I stop to think about it. Quite often, when I chuckle internally at something, I find my brain spelling out L-O-L, a sure sign that I spend too much time on email and IM. Teenagers are already picking up shortened forms of words and phrases for use on instant messenger and cell phone text messages.
