It must be a day for full launches as Google has also moved their personalized search out of beta and into a "regular" launch. Google's personalized search aims to catalog past searches along with the results you've clicked to help you find sites again down the road. It requires that you have a Google account, but since everything at Google is now requiring an account, that's not a surprise.
