Loren Baker, who runs the popular Search Engine Journal site announced today that he'll be taking nominations for Best of Search Engine Blogs Competition from today until this coming Friday.

Baker is asking readers to nominate their favorite blogs in a variety of categories. Once the nomination period ends, he'll be coming up with a list of finalists and opening up the vote to the public so that they can send a public thanks to all those hard working search bloggers.

Categories include:

  • Search Engine Run Blogs (blogs run by actual search engines)
  • Search Engine News Blogs (blogs that focus on covering the latest search news)
  • SEO Blogs (blogs about organic search optimization
  • SEM Blogs (blogs about paid search marketing
  • Community Run Search Blogs (blogs run by multiple editors or authors
  • Best Usability or Site Design Blog
  • Suggestions of categories that got missed
