Earlier this week, I wrote an article examining the battle taking place between the U.S. Government and Google with regards to a request from the Department of Justice for access to Google's index. With neither Google nor the U.S. Department of Justice willing to give in, it looks like the battle over Google's data is headed to the courts.

Yesterday, U.S. District Court Judge James Ware set a court date of February 27th for the hearing over whether or not the government will force Google to give up the data that the Department of Justice has requested. The case will be heard in U.S. District Court in San Jose. Google has until February 6th to issue their first response to the DOJ's motion to compel. The DOJ will then have until Feb 13th to respond to any statement that Google might make.
