Somehow this slipped past me, but since there are still a few days left in June, I figured it'd be a good idea to pass it on. Apparently, those folks over at ClickTracks drank a few too many margaritas at a summer picnic because they've dropped the price on their Analyzer and Optimizer software for the month of June. Until Friday, the price on Analyzer is just $299 (usually $495) and Optimizer is just $799 (instead of $1195.)
I've reviewed ClickTracks software several times in the past and am playing around with version 6.1 right now. Regular readers know that I'm a huge fan of the software because instead of spitting out a zillion reports that no one understands, it uses a great visual reporting style that really gives you insight into how people actually USE your web site. Both Analyzer and Optmizer run off of log files, so you'll need to make sure that you can access that data before you make your purchase. (Otherwise, you'd have to go with the hosted versions of the software, which are not currently on sale.)
If you're not familiar with the different levels of the software, I'll give you a quick overview...
This is great starter software for small businesses that want to get an idea of how people use their site. It's also an affordable way to start learning about analytics and then to work your way up to more advanced software. Analyzer features ClickTracks popular visitor labeling, which allows you to narrow down your visitors depending on things like what keywords they used to find your site, what links they used to find you, or even if they ended up making a purchase. Analyzer also features the popular "data overlay" that made ClickTracks famous in the industry. Basically, you can look at an image of your web site and see exactly how many people click on each and every link on the site...seeing this data visually instead of in a long list makes a world of difference in really understanding what's going on.
ClickTracks Optimizer has all the features that Analyzer has, plus quite a few more. It's a great option for medium size SEO shops, for smaller consultants and for businesses that have grown large enough to need more robust reporting features, including a few brand new ones. Two of my favorites are the robot simulator and the ranking reporter. The rank report feature uses the search engine's API to find the ranking for any keywords that send traffic to your site. The nice thing about this is that it focuses on the phrases that actually send you traffic, not just the ones that you wish you ranked for. The robot simulator will help you see your site the way the engines do. You can also access things like email and online campaign tracking, the "What's Changed" report and quite a few other things.
To get the discount on Analyzer, you'll want to use the coupon code "analyzer299" on the first screen of the shopping cart. To get the discount on Optimizer, use the coupon code "optimizer799."
