This week I'll be blogging live from San Jose, California. I'm out here for the Search Engine Strategies show and will be until last Thursday night. If you are out here, please do look me up and say hello as I'd love to meet some Search Engine Guide readers. I'll be moderating the Keyword Research session this morning at 11am and will be speaking in three different sessions on Wednesday.
This show marks one of the first times that there's been a "Small Business Track" at a major search marketing trade show. As a small biz evangelist, I'm excited to see what the interest levels will be. I'm actually speaking in the second session of that track Wednesday morning called "Big Ideas for Small Sites and Small Businesses" along with Small Business Ideas forum moderator Matt McGee. I'll be taking a little bit about how you can learn to anticipate what the search engines are looking for instead of trying to catch up to the changes they make. Since small business owners rarely have time to "algorithm chase," it's essential that they understand the philosophy of search marketing and learn how to make the types of decisions that will cause their site's rankings to improve over time, no matter what new changes the rest of the industry is running after.
I'm also going to stop in for a quick chat with Chris Pirillo today, though I'm not yet sure when the interview will be broadcast. I'll be sure to make a blog post letting you know in case you're interested in checking it out.
