It's always exciting to see search engine marketing professionals banding together to form organizations designed at advancing the industry. These days there are both national level organizations like SEMPO and SMA-NA and regional groups like DFWSEM in Dallas, Texas. That's why I was pleased to hear that a new group, SEMpdx has been launched in Portland, Oregon.

The mission of SEMpdx is to develop and enhance member businesses and employees as well as inform and educate the Portland community on the benefits of SEM. To accomplish this mission, SEMpdx members meet regularly to share information and discuss industry trends. Additionally, SEMpdx will host events open to area businesses, offering educational workshops.

"We see an opportunity to improve ourselves and elevate our profession," said Michael "Blu" Drobushevich, Vice President of SEMpdx. “More importantly, this is an opportunity to put Portland on the national map."
