The latest version, Internet Explorer 7 , launched publicly last Wednesday. It is the biggest overhaul of the browser since 2001. Users are already reporting problems with installation and usability. For an overview of the new look and feel of the browser, USA Today writer, Edward C Baig offers up his initial review.

From an SEO standpoint there are some quirks- Read Danny Sullivan's disastrous experience on just installing IE7. His account made me laugh out loud- but it also made me want to turn and run to the nearest FireFox-hole before I try this one out!

Some of us have to install IE 7 just to see how a website with look and work within the browser. If you want to avoid some of the problems Danny faced and the many others that users have reported, the site, IE-Vista offers a step by step list of things to do and not do when installing.

After finally getting installed Danny writes up an excellent report, Searching Via Internet Explorer 7 & The Battle To Be The Default Search Engine on the new search function and how it is being handled in Internet Explorer 7 browser. Complaints abound with the oft blogged about CSS issues and problems with java script.

With the upgrade you can now use an array of add-ons, borrowing the concept of extensions from FireFox .I am disappointed that almost all the add-ons are not free-you must pay to use them.

I for one and holding off on installing the latest and greatest from Microsoft on a machine I need to work seamlessly.
