In an eye-opening account of a trade show experiment, Avinash Kaushik asks analytics vendors 2 questions:
Question # 1: Unique: What is the most unique thing about your company / solution compared to all other competitor solutions out there?
Question # 2: Unique Feature: Is there a feature in your product that differentiates you from your competitors? Perhaps a report, a metric or a feature?
The answers are very interesting, as many vendors are not aware that their competitors also offered some of their “unique” features.
If you were in the market, which response would interest you in looking deeper? Are there some responses that would cause you to walk away?
What can you, as a business owner do, to help your salespeople and employees to better communicate the uniqueness of your business and your product? Can they also articulate the vision and direction of the company?
